Lake Gregory is situated right in the center of the Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka and was reconstructed by the government to have many recreational activities for people who visit there with their friends and families. This was originally created in 1873 by the British governor Sir William Gregory and named as Lake Gregory to honour himself. 

Most of the visitors use this lake as their picnic area or resting area after a long journey. Visitors can take rest by enjoying the view of the lake with the slight breeze coming from the lake.

There are a variety of activities such as boat rides, water walking balls, windsurfing, pony rides etc. It was recreated specially to use as a public resting place with different fun activities.
